Why do people feel lonely?

In our current social structure where individual success is glorified, people are occupied with amassing wealth, fame, position, power.

Individual success

Their obsession with success makes them extremely focused. Things and money comes before people. In this environment the disconnect with people gets amplified. People are means to get what they want. Their hearts are so distant even though they are in extreme proximity to each other.

Feeling lonely

People feel lonely even in a crowd. Even famous and popular people feel extremely lonely and distant even though they are surrounded by people who admire them and are willing to do anything for them.

Depression

They suffer from depression and crave for a meaningful relationship. They crave for the true heart to heart connect. They seek for true love. They seek relationships in which they can be who they really are. Be with people who can accept them the way they are. They want to be with people in the company of whome they don’t need to pretend. They want friends with no hidden agendas or vested interest.

They wish they could be who they are and not be judged.

The fear of rejection is so great that people project an image of themselves to be strong, powerful, knowledgeable, capable, independent. The reality is far from this projected image. Deep down they feel unwanted, incapable, weak, vulnerable, tender, hurt, misunderstood, rejected. They feel ” If people really knew me, they will outright reject me.”

Fear of rejection

They don’t want to be rejected.

So they pretend to be a person who will be accepted. They fake their true inner feelings with what others would want them to feel and be. They behave in ways that don’t resemble their real selves.

Pretending to be someone else

People they meet and connect with are in the same boat. Pretending to be someone else. They speak, interact, transact but they don’t connect at a deep level. Their connect is truly transactional and not emotional.

Relationship with no pretence

Only deep relationships gives us the feeling of fulfilment. It takes time and a spirit of contribution to arrive there. It takes honesty, integrity, values and time to nurture the relationship. It takes sacrifice, trust and integrity to build such relationships.

Materialistic values

But when we are chasing materialistic values, building deep meaningful relationships takes the back seat. The financial rewards and the sense of accomplishment is great but deep inside due to the lack of investment in true and deep relationships one feels lonely.

Even in the presence of great success and a huge fan following one feels empty and lonely.

It’s critically important to decide what truly matters

Clear on what truly matters

Instead of being myopic and only seeking material pursuits, it’s wise to balance it with development of your inner spiritual self. Develop relationships that will give satisfaction and make life whole.

Loneliness caused due to the disconnect of who we truly are and who we project to be can only be overcome with being in harmony with your inner self.

It comes with integrity in day to day living with the true principles and value that control and govern life.

One has to connect with their inner self and make peace with it before attempting to create relationships with others.

Homeopathy combined with counseling has proven time and again to be extremely effective in dealing with deep emotional issues and hurt. It helps to overcome the injuries, create the deep inner connect and develop a better healthier and happy life
