
Our minds are constantly thinking. Research shows that approximately 64,000 thoughts cross our minds daily. It’s very hard to hold on to a thought for a long time. They come, stay for a little while and they leave. Thoughts are neither positive or negative but they become neutral, positive or negative depending upon our emotional definitions and linkages.

When we face a strong unpleasant situation, trauma or some difficult time in our life. our minds become injured and develops a heightened awareness to negative thoughts. Redirect your mind with deeply passionate and meaningful goals. The things that you are passionate about, a cause that’s near to your heart, some social activity that you have been putting off for a long time.

When your mind is occupied with enjoyable work it seldom deviates towards meaningless activities. Even when it does it quickly comes out and the impact of the negative thought is also very mild.

Spend time with nature. Do something that you like in nature. Feel natural

Comfort foods on the other hand make you feel good in the short term when you have it but after the sugar rush is over it leaves you feeling more negative and depressed.
Avoid coffee, alcohol, some medicines that cause anxiety.

Be in the company of happy people. Happy people are happy because they have trained their minds either by practice, design or conditioning.
Help others especially those in need. Comfort the sick and old.
Develop a positive thinking and living lifestyle.
Work on the thought patterns and paradigms. Develop a better understanding about their genesis and reinforcement.
Take sufficient rest and sleep.

Meditation is extremely helpful. It helps to reduce the panic and centers the mind
Think about the worst outcome of the problem. Make peace and accept that outcome. You will feel peaceful.
When persistent thoughts appear. Just accept them calmly and know that thoughts don’t stay for long. Thoughts are constantly changing. You don’t have to react or resist the thought. The lesser you react, struggle or resist the quickly you will be able to find freedom from the negative impact of that thought.
Remember that what ever you will resist it will persist and get stronger.
So just accept the fact you have these worrying thoughts and affirm to your self It’s ok to have worrying thoughts. Don’t resist them.
Distraction is a short term remedy with low long term benefits.
The lesser importance you attach to the thoughts the sooner they will loosen their grip on you and vanish.

Always remember that there’s an almighty God who in in charge of all things. We do not control circumstances and the outcome of our action. God’s guiding principles do that. It’s in our hands to do all we can and the all mighty, omnipresent, the preserver is the one who controls and rewards all our actions. We got to trust that almighty and our worries will vanish.
